The Government collectively resigns
After remaining at the head of the Government since 2008, the Prime Minister and Head of the Government, Ignacio Milam Tang, accompanied by members of his team, went on the morning of Friday, May 18 to the People's Palace in Malabo to present to the President his resignation and that of his team.
This event took place in the presence of several presidential advisers and the Secretary-General of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea, Lucas Nguema Esono Mbang.
The Committee on Bills and Bylaws of the Basic Law meets with President Obiang
On Monday, the People's Palace in Malabo was the venue for the meeting between the Head of State, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo with the Commission responsible for preparing the Draft Laws and Internal Regulations of all the new bodies of the Basic Law of Equatorial Guinea.
The Head of State, again re-elected as party Chairman
During a marathon conference that began about ten o'clock and ended well past dawn, the main bodies of PDGE proclaimed the Head of State, Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, as Chairman of the party for a new presidential term at the head of the formation, and to invest him as candidate for the forthcoming elections. This third and last session of Congress was marked by many speeches.
The work of the 5th Ordinary Congress, once the special session for women had concluded, continued on Saturday morning with many speeches and news.
The 5th Congress of the PDGE begins
The 5th Ordinary National Congress of the PDGE begins today, Thursday, April 19, after thousands of congressmen from the delegations around the country have arrived in the city of Bata.
The program will begin with the arrival of participants at the Palace of Ngolo, although the solemn opening ceremony will take place at 11.30 a.m., with the welcoming speech by the Mayor of Bata and other participants.
Audiences of the President of Republic
The Head of State, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, received at the African Palace of Bata the Presidential Adviser of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe, Enrique Pinto Da Costa and the Secretary General of the party Convergence for Social Democracy (CPDS), Placido Mico Abogo.
The audiences took place last Monday, the first to approach the Head of State was the Presidential Adviser of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe, Enrique Pinto Da Costa, who came to deliver the message sent by his President, Manuel Pinto Da Costa, to his counterpart from the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
